Overview
At Trellus, we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of any personal information about our users. Your privacy is always at the top of our priorities. This Privacy Statement explains who we are and spells out how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from or about you and how to exercise your privacy rights. If you have any questions or concerns about our use of your personal information, please contact us using the details provided at the bottom of this Privacy Statement.
What Does this Privacy Statement Cover?
This Privacy Statement applies to our collection, use and disclosure of personal information that we collect from you or that you provide when you engage with Trellus, our website "www.trellus.ai" (the “Website”) or the customer engagement platform service at app.trellus.ai ("Trellus Service") (together the “Services”). Trellus Users can access the Trellus Service via our website www.trellus.ai, app.trellus.ai, applications on Devices, APIs, and third-parties.This Privacy Statement only applies where we are processing personal information for our own purposes. It does not cover the personal information Trellus collects, uses and discloses on behalf of its Clients (“Client Data”) in connection with the Trellus Service and we invite you to contact the relevant company or organization if you have any questions about their privacy practices.
The Information We Collect
The personal information we collect broadly falls within the following categories:
Information you provide voluntarily
Certain parts of our Website or Trellus Service ask you to provide certain information voluntarily. This typically includes:
1. Identification information, such as your name, company and job title
2. Contact information, such as your phone number, email address, and home and/or business postal addresses.
3. Log-in credentials, such as your username and password to access the Trellus Services.
4. Demographic Data. In some cases, such as when you register or participate in surveys, we request that you provide age, gender, and similar demographic details.
5. Payment Information, such as your bank account number; credit card number and associated identifiers and billing address but only when you pay for the Trellus Services.
6. Support data, such as feedback or information about a technical issue you have reported.
7. Marketing information such as your marketing preferences.
8. Communication data, such as any information you include in any enquiry or communications you send us.
9. Any information you choose to provide to us when completing any ‘free text’ boxes in our forms or blogs. When you submit a demo request, Trellus sends the contact information and request details you provided to the services that handle the request. Closing or leaving an unfinished form does not submit those contact details. We may count anonymous form steps as described below.
Information we collect automatically
Like most companies that offer online services, we may automatically collect certain information from your computer or device, about your use of the Trellus Service or our Website. We use this information to provide our Services, ensure the security of our Services, help improve our Services and promote our Services to you. This typically includes:
Cookies data: Necessary technologies operate and secure the Website. Google Analytics runs after you allow Analytics cookies in Cookie settings. Advertising cookies and ad personalization are disabled on the Website. Trellus manages these choices through the site footer, where you can change or withdraw your selection. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track for website measurement. You can browse the Website and request a demo without accepting optional cookies. When you request a demo, we record the campaign details in the link you used to reach the page, such as UTM parameters or an advertising click identifier, with your request so we know which campaign it came from. These details are not stored on your device. Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Anonymous website counters: When enabled, our website counts page views, link clicks and form steps as daily totals on our own infrastructure. These counters use no analytics cookies or visitor identifiers and do not store form entries, raw URLs or referrers, IP addresses, or user agents. They record limited page categories, source channels and form-step labels. They operate until you save Analytics off in Cookie settings, and stop for Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Daily totals expire after at most 91 days, subject to deletion processing time.
Location data: We may derive your general location based on your IP address.
Activity data: We may also collect information about how you use and interact with our Services, such as the content you view or download and the actions you take and the time and duration of your activities.
Information we obtain from third-party sources
From time to time, we may receive personal information about you from third party sources but only when these third parties have confirmed to us that they either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose this information to us. This typically includes:
Data Supplementation. We may receive additional demographic information (including your company, job title or business contact details) about you from other sources, including publicly available databases or third parties such as lead generation providers or business intelligence platforms from whom we have purchased data. We combine this data with information we already have about you. This helps us to maintain and improve the accuracy and relevance of our records, identify new opportunities, and send you information about products and services that may be of interest to you in accordance with your marketing preferences.
Sign-in information: If you log in to our Services using a third party sign-in service (such as LinkedIn), we will collect information from that sign-in service that you give us permission to receive. This may include information such as your name, social media profile and location. We only collect this information to provide the Services to you. Please refer to the privacy settings of the third party sign-in service you use to manage the information that is shared.
Client Data
Please note that as explained above, we also receive personal information about you, in the form of Client Data from our Client. We use such personal information to provide the Trellus Service to our Clients and only as instructed by the Clients. Under these circumstances, we process your information as a processor on our Clients' behalf and it is our Clients, as the controllers of the information, that determine what information we process about you and how we use it. If you have any privacy-related questions or concerns about one of our Client's privacy practices, or the choices a Client has made to share your information with us, you should contact that company or organization directly. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of our Clients, which may differ from those described in this Privacy Statement.
Google Services, Video Players and the Trellus Chrome Extension
Google Analytics and Google Ads. Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, runs on the Website only after you allow Analytics cookies in Cookie settings, and you can withdraw that choice at any time. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Advertising cookies and ad personalization are disabled on the Website. If you reach the Website from a Google ad and then request a demo, we may report the advertising click identifier stored with your request, and whether a meeting was booked, to Google Ads to measure that campaign; this does not use cookies on your device. Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and read Google's Privacy Policy.
Video players. Some pages show recordings hosted on YouTube, a Google service, or on Tella. Many pages show a still image and load the provider's player only when you press play; others load the player when the page or section opens. YouTube players on the Website use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not store information about visitors unless they play the video. Once a player loads, the provider's privacy policy applies, including Google's Privacy Policy for YouTube.
Google user data in the Trellus Service. If you connect a Google service to the Trellus Service, Trellus requests only the access that feature needs. For Google Sheets, Trellus asks for access to the specific spreadsheets you open or create with Trellus (the Google Drive "drive.file" permission); it reads the rows and columns you map, such as names and phone numbers, to build your call list, and writes call results to the columns you choose. For Google Calendar, Trellus asks for permission to create and update events on calendars you own (the "calendar.events.owned" permission) and for your Google account email address; it uses them to add the callbacks you schedule in Trellus to your primary calendar. Google access credentials are stored encrypted. You can revoke Trellus's access at any time from your Google Account's third-party access settings.
Trellus's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Trellus does not sell Google user data, does not use it for advertising, and does not use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. We share Google user data only as needed to provide the features described above, with service providers that process it on our behalf, or when required by law.
The Trellus Chrome extension. The extension works on the CRM, sales engagement and dialer pages where you use it. To place, coach and log calls, it handles the information shown on those pages, such as contact names, phone numbers, companies and the records or tasks you call from, together with call audio, your microphone input during calls, and the addresses of open tabs so it can find supported pages. If you turn on the LinkedIn inbox, it uses your signed-in LinkedIn session to load and send your LinkedIn messages in Trellus. The extension keeps your settings on your device. We use this information only to provide and improve Trellus's calling, coaching and inbox features; we do not sell it, use it for advertising or use it to determine creditworthiness. Our use of information received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Each Chrome permission is explained on our Extension security page.
